I love a coordination challenge. I also think that very often teachers make the mistake of teaching every movement separately and not as a part of a bigger picture.
You do a figure of eight, then you stop, now you move your arms, and start again. Everything very neat and clean, but also linear and sometimes even boring.
Learning how to coordinate your movement since the very beginning is certainly a challenge, and this is precisely how I teach in my face to face classes (you can learn more about my classes here).
The truth is that the learning curve is different for each one of us, and it is usually slower to learn belly dance from scratch including the coordination, but when you finally make it, your movements are part of a harmonic and full of sense movement.
You can compare this learning process with a child whose parents speak two different languages. She/he takes longer to start speaking, but when she/he gets there is completely bilingual!
Today’s video brings you a coordination challenge between arms and hips for intermediate/advance levels. I promise you are going to be entertained for a few days.
Do it right now, and please, don’t get frustrated. Remember that perseverance is clue.
